the good, the bad, the ugly

the harmless (age 18). the original plan when i got this was to get a heart on each side. but after the guy finished i looked in the mirror and thought, hmmm this is a tattoo on my chest. maybe i should just go for the one and see how i like it. thank god cause otherwise i would look like a playing card.
the pretty bad (age 19). i've pretty much come to terms with the fact that this is an oakland a's tattoo. i pretty much just tell people that now. because i got tired of them asking if it was. i got an a for ashley, which might actually be more embarrassing than an oakland a's tattoo. so, goooo team! big fan.
the cute and tiny (age 25). i got this for my badass nephew, julian river. it's from one of his books called the little fur family. this little guy is going places. he's on the move. he even has a tiny bearclaw.
the bad (age 17). girls first tattoo. can't you tell? the first tattoo could really only be one of two things: a star, or a butterfly on my lower back. still hate this, but i think i made away with the better of the two.
age 22. this one is from a painting by one of my favorite artists, mark ryden. he's rad. and this is blurry.
(age 25) crazy dog lady taken to a whole new level. for my dog, coco. i didn't name her. not that i think coco is a bad name, it's just a little common. she's cooler than a coco. i like the name coco for a person, but in the dog world, it doesn't have as much street cred.
and there you have it---you asked! my not so cool walk down tattoo memory lane. hopefully you didn't think they were deep and meaningful. no regrets.

  2. hehehehe you tramp stamp tramp! Don't worry I'm right there behind ya sister, although that sounds a bit weird, maybe I mean beside you, yeah that sounds way better,( like an ink wing man or a "wink man" get it just made that bad boy up, and bad as wrong) with similar small tattoos that I'm not so sure I love as much as the day I committed but hell, you know they say life is like a tapestry and who wants to leave behind some stingy old faded boring tapesty behind when you can leave behind a crazy colourful technicolour inked, fringey, feathery, triangle loving tapesty! And in the words of my last tattoo, we should all live a bit in "reckless abandon" p.s this tattoo is crooked, hmmm well at least i got this tattoo in the spirit of it's message! hahahh. xxxx

  6. Well, you're tats are pretty anyways :) I love the little heart by the way, it's really pretty on you (maybe it's your skintone and the matching new haircolor that does that, dunno).
Just a question; how bad did the one on your ribs hurt? Planning to get a tattoo there as well, and your the first person I come across who has one as well :)

    Love,
    Shanah.

  9. Oh! what a great post! Like your "aurum" atom! and blurry I like it more, heheh. (I didn't knew "blurry" and I also like this word! "borroso" in spanish!)

I've always wanted to tattoo... but I confess, I'm afraid. My boyfriend says that when we get married we should tattoo a japanese dragon in our backs, each one. Sounds romantic??? Love japanese tattos... but... there's always a "but"!!

  18. Hahah, they're just bits and parts of your life you will always remember. That's a great thing about tattoos, they're little memory marks aren't they?

  21. LOVE the cosmic one, the star and the cuddly bear!!

God I'm so sad. I have none. Just lots of freckles. Maybe I should do a 'connect the dots' tatt of all of them. Damn what a web that would look like.

  22. I love tattoos and hey some are better than others, but at least they tell a story. Even if it's funny

  23. Despite the slight tat remorse on some of them they all end up lookin good once your ensemble-d up. That's all that matters in the end. I like em!

  25. omgooshhh the little furry guy is ADORABLE!

people get really confused about one of my tattoos too-my mom and i got matching ones with our names a few year back so i have a very delicate little heart with mom in it-although if i go to high 5 someone, it looks like it says WOW. least to say i get made fun of all the time for it. but i still love it!

  26. Ha! Love this post. My first and only tat was gotten at age 23 and it's a lil bat on my hip bone (love vampires and since I was forced to get something by a friend who was getting inked, I went for the bat). I do want another one (a broken heart on my wrist) and will prob get it when my kitty dies (I've had her for forever!)

  29. I've been thinking about doing a post like this myself. There doesn't need to be deep meaning behind your tats. I'm up to 13 and only 3 have a meaning behind them. The rest are just things I really like and will be okay with in 70 years. As long as you like them, keep on going.
